Falco is now an approved contractor for groundworks technology provider Normet. The London-based utilities firm has been approved to apply its range of leak sealants and soil stabilisation products.

Falco’s Operations Director, Terry McHugh, commented.

“The use of Normet products to facilitate our works has expanded the range of disciplines we can deliver in-house,” he said, “This enables us to seamlessly deliver complex and challenging groundworks packages in-house without the need to involve specialist sub-contractors, thereby delivering programme and cost savings.”

Falco have been using the TamPur 150 product to seal chambers during the installation and maintenance of flood alleviation devices for Thames Water. TamPur 150 is a hydrophilic polyurethane prepolymer liquid for hydrophilic polymer resin-type water stopping. After injection directly into a crack, fracture or joint, the product foams to expand and fills the void, forming a tight, impermeable elastomeric seal to prevent leaks.

Falco have also been using Normet’s GeoTek LV soil stabilisation product when establishing tunnels in saturated conditions, most recently at the South Quay Plaza sewer connection project for Laing O’Rourke. GeoTek LV is a solvent-free, low viscosity polyurethane product which can be injected directly into the ground that reacts when it comes into contact with water, forming a rigid polyurethane foam.

Normet is a Finnish company operating globally with over 50 locations in 30 countries worldwide which provides a broad underground offering from construction products to plant, equipment and maintenance.
