Most of our work is carried out in high-risk environments i.e. underground, adjacent to highways, rail and live services. Maintaining the health & safety of our employees and the public is therefore a core value which is fundamental to the company’s philosophy.

We take a comprehensive, holistic approach to managing health & safety. The company has developed an occupational health & safety management system which is certificated against International Standard OHSAS 18001. The system, which is maintained and implemented by a dedicated, in-house H&S team, is predicated upon 4 key principals:

Worker Competency

All Falco operational staff are accredited to NSWRA and hold CSCS and/or CPCS cards. Regular in-house training is delivered as part of a programme of continuous professional development.

Risk Assessment

For every task we undertake an assessment of the health & safety risks which identifies the key hazards, analyses the likelihood of occurrence and selects appropriate measures to mitigate and manage them. These are integrated into method statements and works package plans and used to instruct the workforce.

Inspection

Our Health & Safety team carry out regular inspections of our sites which are documented.

Feedback

Data from inspections and audits is collated by our Health & Safety team to identify trends, corrective actions and ensure continuous improvement.
