Nearly two years on from our transition to an Employee Owned Trust (EOT) and our Trust Board have been busy introducing activities and initiatives to ensure we make the most of the benefits that employee-ownership offers.

In October Employee Trust Director, Terry McHugh, and Service Frameworks Manager, Simon Smith, joined 670 other delegates from over two hundred employee-owned businesses at the 2022 EOA Conference in Liverpool. The two-day conference, which was held at the Liverpool ACC where the Labour Party Conference had been held the previous week, enabled attendees to share experiences and learn more about ‘unlocking the potential’ of employee ownership.

“It was very rewarding to spend two days surrounded by great examples of good employee ownership,” reflected Terry McHugh, “Between the excellent lectures, seminars & networking events, we have picked up so many great ideas that will help us with our Employee Ownership journey.”

Terry says that one of the lectures they attended inspired them to carry out a Pulse Survey of all 25 employee owners in November which was designed to gauge progress of Falco’s employee ownership journey and provide guidance on the next steps.

Coral Macfarlane, Mike Heaphy, and Bobby Thomas have all attended a training course organised by the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) entitled ‘Representing & Developing Employee Voice in Your EO Business’. The interactive workshop-style seminar, which is delivered via Zoom, is designed to guide attendees in how to develop and support a framework to represent employee voice in their business.
