Description: Since 2008 Falco has won repeat contracts to install telecommunications ducting within sewers throughout the capital for London-based multi-utility company, Instalcom.

Falco’s extensive experience of working in high risk confined spaces, carrying out construction works on Thames Water infrastructure and liaising with Thames Water operational staff to obtain TWOSA’s (Thames Water Operator Safety Authorisation) made us the ideal partner to assist Instalcom in their telecoms project delivery.

Working to design specifications prepared by Instalcom’s in-house engineering team, Falco carried out extensive surveys of the local sewer
network to determine the most cost effective methods of installing the fibreoptic cabling.

Using desk analysis and site-surveying we were able to prepare detailed plans which identified the access points (manholes) and route using underground man entry sewers. Safety is a critical aspect of this type of work and all of our survey and operational teams have the necessary CP1 and CP2 confined spaces training accreditations to access the underground water network to install colour-coded cable ducting which were affixed to the tunnel walls.

Customer service has been excellent resulting in a number of written commendations from customers.
